Julie-Anne De Ruvo is an award-winning screen editor whose prolific body of work spans across television, feature films and documentary filmmaking.

Julie-Anne’s television credits are extensive, with some of her recent highlights including the four-part crime drama, Swift Street (dir. Tig Terera), for Magpie Pictures and SBS; the series went on to have its international premiere at Canneseries and has received unwavering acclaim; the critically successful dark comedy, Deadloch (Dir. Gracie Otto/ Guesswork, Amazon Studios); the first season of hit series, Love Me (dir. Emma Freeman/ Aquarius Films, Warner Bros, Binge) starring Hugo Weaving; and all three seasons of the award-winning drama The Newsreader (dir. Emma Freeman, Werner Productions, ABC, 2021-25).

Julie-Anne has received six nominations and four wins for Best Editing across television Comedy and Drama from the Australian Screen Editor's Guild. Her ASE awarded television credits include: the second series of The Letdown (dir. Trent O’Donnell/Giant Dwarf, 2019); season two and three of Please Like Me (dir. Matt Saville/Guesswork Television, 2015, 2016) as well as The Beautiful Lie (dir. Glendyn Ivin/ Endemol Shine, 2015).

On the feature film side, Julie-Anne edited recent release Head South (dir. Jonathan Ogilvie, 2023), which had its world Premiere at the 2024 Rotterdam Film festival; she also co-edited Undertow (Emerald Productions, 2018) for director Miranda Nation and received an AACTA Award nomination for Best Editing in a Feature Film with Nick Meyers for their work on the film. Julie-Anne also edited the horror-comedy, Better Watch Out (dir. Chris Peckover/ Storm Vision Entertainment, 2016).

Julie-Anne has edited several acclaimed Documentaries, some of which include, Morgana (dirs. Isabel Peppard, Josie Hess/House of Gary, 2018) and Horror Movie: A low budget nightmare (dir. Gary Doust/ Fridgejam Productions, 2017). She also co-wrote and edited the feature documentary Girls Can’t Surf (dir. Christopher Nelius/ Finch, 2020) which follows the journey towards equal opportunity in women's professional surfing.

Most recently, Julie-Anne finished cutting the Stan original film, One More Shot (Dir. Nicholas Clifford), which premiered at SXSW and is set to play at MIFF in August. The feature is a co-production between Goodthing Productions and Truce Films. She is currently working on the much anticipated second season of Deadloch.
