Emma Paine is a highly sought-after cinematographer working across television drama, feature films, documentaries, and commercials.
Most recently, Emma returned for the second season of the critically acclaimed hit series Colin from Accounts (Easy Tiger/ Binge, 2024), after shooting all eight episodes of the first season. The series was awarded most Outstanding Comedy Series at the 2023 Logie Awards. Prior to that, Emma shot the final three episodes of the psychological drama series, One Night (2023), for Paramount+ and Easy Tiger. Her other television credits include: the Paramount+ comedy-drama series Spreadsheet (Northern Pictures, 2021); and the ABC’s comedy web series Halal Gurls (In-Between Productions, 2020).
Emma’s feature film credits include Christmas Ransom (dir. Adele Vuko, Stan/Every Cloud Production, 2022) and the AACTA nominated film Zelos (dir. Jo-Anne Brechin, Painted Gate Pictures, 2017).
Early in her career, Emma won her first Gold Tripod at the ACS National awards for the short film We Will (dir. Laura Nagy, 2016). Her other notable shot films include Chlorine (dir. Melissa Anastasi, Dollhouse Productions, 2019) which had its international premiere at the BFI London Film Festival and Sweet Tooth (dir. Shannon Ashlyn, AFTRS) which won the best short film at Cinema Des Antipodes 2019.
Emma was named as a ‘rising talent’ by Insider Film in 2022 and has recently wrapped on SBS’s latest drama Four Years Later. The series explores the love story of Sridevi and Yash, who must endure four years apart right after their wedding when Yash lands a medical traineeship in Australia.
