Giula is an experienced screenwriter, currently working on productions in Australia, the UK, and the USA.
Giula created and wrote all episodes on The House Across The Street - a 4 x 60’ drama produced by Clapperboard for Channel 5 in the UK. The series won the 2024 Australian Writers’ Guild Award for Television – Limited Series. It was directed by Dominic Leclerc and starred Shirley Henderson. Giula also co-created and was head writer of Savage River, a six-part drama for Aquarius Films and the ABC (2022).
In the last year Giula wrote an episode of Protection, the New Pictures/All Three Media series for ITV, an episode of Darby and Joan Series 2 for CJZ and Acorn and has written two episodes of Granite, for 60FortyFilms for Apple TV+, to be shot in early 2025. She developed and wrote all episodes of The Rumour for Cuba Pictures/ Clapperboard for Channel 5, set to air in 2025. Giula also wrote an episode for The Last Anniversary for Made Up Stories for BINGE.
Giula is otherwise developing original TV dramas for Aquarius/ABC, Wooden Horse, BBC Studios Australia, Magpie Pictures and FremantleMedia Australia/Netflix. Giula wrote two eps of White House Farm, a series created by Kris Mrksa for New Pictures (UK) and ITV. Other credits include: AWGIE nominated episode of Grace Beside Me (Magpie Pictures for ABC), episodes for Playmaker Media’s Bloom, and Matchbox Pictures’ Glitch Series 1, 2 and 3, A Place To Call Home (Seven Productions/ Foxtel), the Blackfella/Werner series Ready for This for the ABC, Wentworth (Fremantle/ Foxtel), Love Child (Playmaker Media/ Nine Network), McLeod’s Daughters (Millennium Television) and Rescue: Special Ops (Southern Star/ Channel 9).
Giula co-script produced the NBCU/Matchbox's series Nowhere Boys 2, which won the 2015 Logie for Most Outstanding Children’s Program and has been nominated for an International Emmy as well as an AACTA award, she also wrote three episodes on Series 3. Giula wrote the anthology feature Little Deaths, (feature length anthology of 11 episodes on a single theme) and it was the winner of 2008 DigiSPAA Award.
Giula studied a Bachelor of Arts in Film & Television at VCA and she completed a Masters in Scriptwriting at AFTRS.
