Cameron's Welcomes Cinematographer Ashley Barron, ACS to the Agency
Cameron’s Management is thrilled to welcome cinematographer, Ashley Barron, to the agency.
Ashley is an international, award-winning Director of Photography. Ashley's varied background of growing up between Russia, Ireland, Armenia and Australia has shaped her unique mix of visual attitudes, perspective and approach.
Most recently, Ashley shot the SBS On Demand series, The Tailings (dir. Stevie Cruz-Martin/ 2jons), a narrative drama following a daughter’s investigation into her father’s death, which is due for release in early 2021.
Ashley worked as Camera Assistant before being selected as 1 of 28 Cinematographers in the world to train at the American Film Institute Conservatory in Hollywood, the youngest in her class. Ashley's AFI Thesis film Dreamland earned her a nomination at the prestigious Camerimage Cinematography Film Festival and profiled in both the American and Australian Cinematographer Magazines. Ashley was one of 15 women when she received Accreditation from the Australian Cinematographer’s Society in 2018.
Ashley's career has spanned across the US, UK, Australia, China, Canada, Indonesia, Portugal and Ukraine. Her work has earned a number of awards, including a coveted Gold Award from the Australian Cinematographer's Society (ACS), a Nomination for the National ACS Awards, and one of the earliest memberships of the International Collective of Female Cinematographers (ICFC).
Some of Ashley’s other narrative credits include shooting 2nd unit on both Damien Power’s Killing Grounds as well Ben Lucas’ OtherLife (See Pictures/ WBMC, 2016). She also served as the Cinematographer on the feature film One Less God (New Realms Films, 2013) for director Lliam Worthington, which tells the story of the 2008 Mumbai bombings.
Ashley is currently in the UK shooting the second series of hugely popular series, All Creatures Great and Small, for PBS and Channel 5 UK.
