Cameron's Welcomes Costume Designer Erin Roche to the Agency
Cameron’s is thrilled to welcome Costume Designer, Erich Roche, to the agency.
Erin is a highly regarded Costume Designer working across both feature films and premium television, ranging in scope and scale. Most recently, Erin designed costumes for the feature film, Lone Wolf (Future Pictures, 2021), directed by Jonathan Ogilvie and produced by Lee Hubber and Mat Govoni. The film stars Hugo Weaving and premiered at the 2021 Melbourne International Film Festival, followed by a World Premiere at the 50th annual International Film Festival Rotterdam in the Netherlands.
Erin’s other feature credits include director Stephen Johnson’s feature film, High Ground (Bunya Productions/ Savage Films, 2020), which had its international premiere in 2020 at the Berlinale Special Gala and earned Erin an APDG nomination for Best Costume Design in a Feature Film; Erin designed the feature film Disclosure (Disclosure Productions, 2020), directed by Michael Bentham and the feature Celeste (Unicorn Films, 2018), directed by Ben Hackworth and starring Radha Mitchell. Erin also designed costumes on Nick Verso’s debut acclaimed feature film Boys in the Trees (Mushroom Pictures, 2016) that premiered at the Venice Film Festival in 2016 in competition in the Orizzonti section.
On the television front, Erin designed the ten-part series, Sisters (2017), for Channel 10 and Endemol Shine alongside directors Emma Freeman, Shannon Murphy and Corrie Chen. Erin costume designed The Wrong Girl starring Jessica Marais, for Channel 10 and Playmaker; she received an APDG Award nomination for her work on the series, one of two nominations that year, with the other being for her work on Boys in the Trees in the Feature Film category. She was also nominated for best costume design at the 6th annual AACTA awards for her work on the ABC and Endemol series, The Beautiful Lie (2015), for director Glendyn Ivin. Erin was also the Costume Designer across the first three seasons of the hugely popular series, House Husbands (Playmaker, 2013-2014).
Erin is a Doctor of Creative Industries, graduating from Queensland University of Technology in 2018. Her research focused on the role of the costumer design in characterisation for film and television. Erin developed a philosophy for the practice of costume design based on the triangulation of embodiment of character, voice of the designer and collaboration. In 2016 Erin was awarded a Churchill Fellowship. The fellowship took her on a 7-week professional development journey, working with costume designers and production companies around the world. The Churchill Fellowship enabled Erin to expand her own design practice, networks and share those findings with the film and TV community on return to Australia.
Erin is currently working on the large-scale fantasy series, La Brea, for NBC Universal.
