Cameron's Welcomes Editor Christine Cheung

We are delighted to announce that Christine Cheung has joined the agency.

Christine Cheung is a screen editor, working across feature films, television, and short form media.

Her recent credits include three episodes of the acclaimed ABC drama Significant Others (dir. Tony Krawitz/ Fremantle Media, 2022); three episodes of ABC children’s series Born to Spy (dirs. Hyun Lee and Darlene Johnson/ Aquarius Films, 2019); and eight episodes of the ground-breaking children’s series, First Day (dir. Julie Kalceff/ Kojo, 2017 – 2022). First Day has earned multiple awards across the globes, including: the Rose d’Or Award for Best Children and Youth Series, First Prize in the Live Action Television category at the Chicago International Film Festival, an International Emmy for Kids: Live Action and the GLAAD Award for Outstanding Kids & Family Programming.

Christine began her career as an assistant editor, working on significant feature films such as Happy Feet (dir. George Miller/ Village Roadshow, 2006), Australia (dir. Baz Luhrmann/ Twentieth Century Fox, 2008), Animal Kingdom (dir. David Michôd, 2010), and The Great Gatsby (dir. Baz Luhrmann/ Village Roadshow, 2013).

In 2014 she cut the short film Red Rover (dir. Brooke Goldfinch), which earned her a nomination for Best Editing in a Short Film at the 2015 Australian Screen Editors (ASE) Awards.  She was nominated in the same category for her work on the 2017 short film, Shiloh (dir. Vanessa Gazy). Christine continued to work in the short form space alongside an impressive range of emerging filmmakers, including Chicken (2019) for director Alana Hicks; You and Me Before and After (Mad Ones Films, 2020) for director Madeleine Gottlieb (earning her another ASE Award nomination for Best Editing in a Short Film, 2022); and Tui Na for director William Duan (Ensemble Films, 2022).

In 2018 she edited the feature film Nekrotronic (dir. Kia Roache-Turner) for Entertainment One and Hopscotch Features, followed by The Greenhouse in 2021 (dir. Thomas Wilson-White/ Everyone We Know). The Greenhouse had its world premiere at the 2021 Queerscreen Mardi Gras Film Festival where it earned the Audience Choice Award for Best Feature; the film went onto have its International Premiere in the British Film Institute in the Flare program.

Christine recently completed editing multiple episodes of the upcoming Stan original, Totally Completely Fine (dir. Lucy Gaffy, Adrian Chiarella/ Fremantle Media, 2023), starring Thomasin McKenzie. She also has the upcoming SBS Digital Original Appetite (dir. Mohini Herse, 2023), for which she edited the final three episodes, in addition to cutting the 60-minute version of the show.
