‘The Correspondent’ to Open Adelaide Film Festival

AFF’s opening night film The Correspondent, starring Richard Roxburgh tells the true story of Peter Greste’s imprisonment in Egypt in 2013. The screenplay was written by Cameron’s client Peter Duncan and directed by Kriv Stenders for POP Entertainment.

Based on Greste’s 2017 memoir The First Casualty, the film follows the award-winning foreign correspondent as he accepts a last-minute assignment to cover a colleague’s post in Cairo during the Arab Spring, only to be arrested and accused of terrorism.

The film will premiere at the Opening Night Gala at The Piccadilly on Wednesday 23 October 2024 and will be released in cinemas on Boxing Day.
