‘Jimpa’ Set to Premiere at Sundance

We are delighted to congratulate Bethany Ryan for her work on the 2025 Sundance selected project, Jimpa. The festival will be held next year from the 23rd January to 2nd February.

Jimpa follows Hannah (Olivia Colman) who takes her nonbinary teenager, Frances (Aud Mason-Hyde), to Amsterdam to visit their gay grandfather, Jim (John Lithgow) – lovingly known as Jimpa. But Frances’ desire to stay abroad with Jimpa for a year means Hannah is forced to reconsider her beliefs about parenting and finally confront old stories about the past. Bethany Ryan production designed the film, working alongside esteemed director Sophie Hyde.

The project is proudly South Australian made and received major support from the South Australian Film Corporation.
