'Fake' Released on Paramount+ Today
The highly anticipated 8-part TV series ‘Fake’ starring Asher Keddie and David Wenham was released on Paramount+ today. Congratulations to set-up director Emma Freeman (episodes 1, 2 & 5) and Erin Roche who costume designed the series.
Inspired by Stephanie Wood’s memoir of the same name, the story follows magazine features writer Birdie Bell (Asher Keddie), who thinks she’s found the one when she meets Joe Burt (David Wenham), a successful Grazier, on a dating app. As their romance deepens, Birdie becomes conflicted about her relationship with Joe. While charming with relentless magnetism, Birdie just can’t shake off the feeling that her boyfriend isn’t all he has led her to believe.
“One of the best Australian dramas of the decade so far…What elevates this one is the thoroughness of its depiction. On an emotional level it is forensic, and the direction – set up by Emma Freeman – accentuates the acutely felt unease.” ★★★★1/2 Sydney Morning Herald
Episodes 1 – 8 are available to stream now exclusively on Paramount+.
