Costume Designer
Leon Krasenstein is a Costume Designer and Stylist for television and film.
Leon latest project was as Costume Designer on Wireless a US series directed by Zach Wechter with Executive Producer Steven Soderbergh. In 2019 he was the Costume Designer on the US short Extra Ordinary directed by Brendan Bellomo. Leon was also Costume Designer on Abe Forsythe's feature Little Monsters starring Lupita Nyong’o and Josh Gad (produced by Jodi Matterson, Bruna Papandrea and Steve Hutensky).
He was Costume Designer for Abe Forsythe’s feature, Down Under, and season 1 of the Bondi Hipsters’ hilarious ABC comedy, Soul Mates, and season 2, which was a collaboration between United States comedy streaming channel Seeso and the ABC.
His other screen work includes Costume Designer for the sci-fi drama feature Terminus, Hoopla Doopla (ABC), Dreaming of Mum (Metro Screen) and Sick (MTV), and Production Designer for Dating the H-Bomb (ABC). Leon has also designed on music videos for Timomatic, Dead Letter Circus, Johnny Ruffo, Justice Crew, Samantha Jade, The Ruebens, and Andrew Desilva.
Leon’s theatre credits include Rake’s Progress (Victorian Opera), The Removalists (Perth Theatre Company), Heart Matters (Tasdance), Rhapsody (NICA’s Circus), Firebird (Australian Ballet – nominated for a 2009 Green Room Award), Die Fledermaus (Opera Queensland), The Marriage of Figaro (The Australian Opera Studio), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (West Australian Ballet – nominated for a 2006 Helpmann Award for Best Costume Design), Dangerous Liaisons, The Red Shoes and Alice (all for West Australian Ballet), The Barber of Seville (Opera Austalia) and Tears From a Glass Eye for Black Swan Theatre Company.
Leon has worked on a variety of commercials for the following companies - Finch, Exit, Rabbit, Revolver, Collider, Good Oil, Japco, Plaza, Photo Play, Film Graphics, Walkabouts and The Feds on the following brand campaigns; Tourism Australia, Commbank, Abbot's Breads, Samsung, Aldi, Nissan, Telstra, Sony, Mortein and 1Direction.
Leon's event and corporate designs include: Alcoa's 2010 strategic plan, LIVE@WOODSIDE 2008 and 2009 and he designed the uniforms for the Channel Seven crew for the 2006 Winter Olympic Games in Torino, Italy. Leon is a member of the USA Costume Designer’s Guild.
