Editor

Maria is a highly regarded and sought after editor with experience across feature films, television and documentaries.

Most recently, Maria was the set-up editor on the newly released Plum (Roadshow Rough Diamond/ Modern Convict/ ABC), working with director Wayne Blair. Currently, she is attached to the anticipated indie feature Sweet Milk Lane written, directed by and starring Harvey Zielinski.

Maria cut the features Magic Beach (Arenamedia, 2024), directed by Robert Connolly, and the AACTA Award for Best Feature nominee Penguin Bloom (Made-Up Stories/ Endeavour Contant, 2020), directed by Glendyn Ivin and starring Naomi Watts. Maria worked in collaboration with long-time mentor Alexandre de Franceschi to cut Force of Nature: The Dry 2 (dir. Robert Connolly/ Made Up Stories/ Roadshow Films, 2024). Throughout her career as an assistant editor, the two also worked frequently together. In 2019, Maria was the editor on Ride Like a Girl (dir. Rachel Griffiths/ The Film Company/ Transmissions Films) and was guided on the project by award-winning editor Jill Bilcock. Both features were nominated in their respective years for Best Film at the AACTA Awards.

Maria’s television work includes episodes 2, 4 and 6 of Love Me season 2 (dir. Bonnie Moir, 2023) for Warner Bros. and Binge and all 4 episodes of the Stan original limited series Bad Behaviour (dir. Corrie Chen/ Matchbox Pictures, 2022). In 2023, she also cut the entirety of Total Control season 3 (Blackfella Films/ ABC), as the sole editor, collaborating again with Wayne Blair, and Jub Clerc.

Other projects Maria has edited include the 2021 AACTA nominated short film The Bends which was directed by Tom Campbell and produced by Alexandra George. She also edited the documentary series, Stingray Sisters, which explores the lives and impact of three sisters in the remote community of Maningrida, Arnhem Land.
