Ben Lawrence's Ghosthunter Nabs Best Australian Documentary at Sydney Film Festival

Cameron’s congratulates our client, Director Ben Lawrence, on the latest success for his stirring Documentary Ghosthunter, which picked up the ‘Documentary Australia Foundation Award for Australian Documentary’ last night at the Sydney Film Festival. Ben has just returned from the UK where the documentary screened at the Sheffield Doc/ Fest.

Ghosthunter follows Western Sydney security guard and part-time ghosthunter, Jason, who has spent two decades searching for his missing Father. As Jason’s search to reconcile his fractured memories progresses he becomes embroiled in a police investigation, forcing him to confront his past in order to reclaim his future. “As humans, we have to forget in order to survive, but we have this burning desire to remember what happened. It’s this struggle that lies at the heart of the film,” said director Ben Lawrence.

While the film won’t hit Australian cinemas until next year, it is expected to continue its successful film festival circuit over the coming months. You’ll be able to catch updates of local festival announcements on our website.
