Ben Lawrence Wins ADG Award 'Best Direction in a Feature Film' for his Acclaimed Drama Hearts and Bones

Cameron’s wishes to congratulate Ben Lawrence, who took home the main prize at last night’s Australian Directors’ Guild (ADG) Awards, for Best Direction in Feature Film (budget 1M +) for his acclaimed debut narrative feature film Hearts and Bones.

It was also announced last week that Ben has received an Australian Writers Guild Award nomination with Beatrix Christian for Hearts and Bones in the Best Feature Film Original category, along with a nomination in the Audio category for his Audible podcast Ghosthunter which is based on the 2018 documentary. The 53rd Annual AWGIE Awards will be held on the 8th of December 2020.

The narrative feature debut for Ben has received praise for its morally complex and unflinching depiction of two men who are battling persistent demons from their past. Hearts and Bones follows a war photographer (Hugo Weaving) and a refugee (Andrew Luri) who both discover a photograph that threatens to destroy them both.

Hearts and Bones is currently available on VOD platforms and Stan.
