Congratulations to writer Noëlle Janaczewska on winning the the Digital History Prize at the NSW Premier's History Awards for her work on the audio doc Experiment St for Radio National. Noelle shares the prize with producer Ros Bluett and composer Russell Stapleton.

Have you ever wondered what life in early Sydney was really like? Seamstress Lizzie Absalom, a fictional resident of Experiment Street in the harbour suburb of Pyrmont adds her colourful recollections to the 'official' records...

Here is an excerpt of the Judges Comments - This is an excellent all-round package. It is well-researched, well-composed in its telling, and professionally edited. An engaging story, balanced in assessment, and compellingly told, it is a brilliant piece of social history for a very small place. It has the capacity to appeal to a wider public audience. You can read the their full comments here or have a listen to the doco here.
