Cameron's Welcomes Screenwriter Jessica Tuckwell to the Agency

Cameron’s is thrilled to welcome screenwriter Jessica Tuckwell to the agency.

Jessica Tuckwell is a screenwriter and script producer for television drama and feature film.

After working in several rooms and developments with John and Dan Edwards at Roadshow Rough Diamond, Jess joined the writing team for ABC series Les Norton and became the Development Executive for Rough Diamond, running a broad slate of drama projects, including the record-breaking Stan series Bump. She is now Script Producer for the series, currently in production for season 2, and writes episodes across both seasons.

She studied screenwriting at AFTRS and completed a Masters in Creative Writing, was a radio producer at 2SER, was 1st AD on feature film Hot Mess, and script edited indie feature films. She returned from a residency in Assisi, Italy where she developed her script, Razzy & Pickle, the first in a trilogy of recluse stories, and wrote, researched and worked on production for various entertainment and documentary shows with Blink TV, Beyond Entertainment, SBS and Channel 7.

Originally training as a theatre director and dramaturg at NIDA, Jessica worked for mainstage, independent and youth companies including Sydney Theatre Company, Griffin Theatre Company, Darwin Festival, Australian Theatre for Young People, Q Theatre and Adelaide Fringe Festival, where her award-winning production of Words They Make with Their Mouths premiered before touring Melbourne and Sydney. She was the inaugural Director in Residence at Bell Shakespeare and continued to direct for Actors at Work and develop projects through the Mind’s Eye program. Her directing work focussed on developing new Australian plays, adaptations and devised work. Jess wrote short plays for Bondi Feast, Griffin and Canberra’s You Are Here festival and her first full length play Tiny Remarkable Bramble was supported by Carriageworks, premiered at Kings Cross Theatre and is being adapted into a series.

Her short stories have been featured on Giant Dwarf’s Story Club podcast and ABC’s Tall Tales and True; she was a finalist in The Moth Grand Slam and her first short story No Strategy was published in the Harper Collins anthology Welcome to Story Club.
