Ghosthunter Q&A Screenings with Director Ben Lawrence Announced

Ben Lawrence’s debut documentary-feature Ghosthunter, which has been lauded by critics and audiences alike, is set to have its Australian theatrical release on September 20th. This release will follow a series of special Q&A screenings with Director Ben Lawrence in attendance in both Sydney and Melbourne, Madman announced Friday. 

The documentary which won the 2018 Sydney Film Festival Documentary Australia Foundation Award, tells the story of Western Sydney security guard and part-time ghosthunter Jason. Jason has spent two decades searching for his missing father. As Jason’s search to reconcile his fractured memories progresses he becomes embroiled with a police investigation which leads to the revelation of a horrific family secret - forcing him to confront his past in order reclaim his future. “As humans, we have to forget in order to survive, but we have this burning desire to remember what happened. It’s this struggle that lies at the heart of the film,” said the director, Ben Lawrence.

These special Q&A screenings will take place at Deny Newtown in Sydney on September 10 and at Classic Elsternwick in Melbourne on September 11. You can buy tickets for either screening here.
