David Williamson's ''Nearer The Gods'' Opens at The Ensemble
David Williamson’s Nearer The Gods received its Sydney premiere this week at the Ensemble Theatre.
Williamson has seldom strayed far from either Australia or the present in his writing, and you sense his deep pleasure in this late-career work giving voice to one of the most stupendous minds ever to grapple with mathematics, physics and astronomy.
Full of wit and wisdom, Nearer the Gods is indeed an easy story to enjoy. This production – running until 23 April – has all the ingredients to be embraced by audiences.
