Cameron's Welcomes Writer/Director JJ Winlove
Cameron’s is delighted to welcome JJ Winlove to the agency.
JJ Winlove wrote and directed the 2021 dramedy feature film June Again, starring Noni Hazlehurst, Claudia Karvan and Stephen Curry. June Again was produced by See Pictures and distributed by Studio Canal and opened on over 300 screens across Australia and New Zealand, earning over $2.5 million locally and garnering praise from both critics and audiences alike. The film screened in the US and Canada through Samuel Goldwyn Films and has also screened in the UK and Germany. The screenplay for June Again was nominated for the 2021 AACTA Award for Best Original Screenplay in Film and the film won the Audience Award at the 2021 Sonoma Film Festival.
While working on June Again, JJ also created Crossing Paths, an interactive film that follows the lives of twelve characters over the course of a day as their lives interconnect. Crossing Paths was selected to screen at the 2021 Sydney Film Festival where it sold out its screenings. It has received funding from Screen Australia to be adapted into an online experience.
In 2014, JJ dedicated a year to making 12:12 – twelve short films in twelve months, a self-inflicted exercise to explore different ways of making films.
In 2012 his short The Mind Job was nominated for nominated for the 2011 AWG Monte Miller Award: Short Form and was selected for the 2012 L.A. Comedy Fest and the Palm Beach International Film Festival.
In 2010 his animated short Coming Clean was also selected for multiple film festivals including the 2011 Short Shorts Film Festival Asia and Guanajuato International Film Festival.
Originally from New Zealand, JJ has also worked as an advertising creative, graphic designer and photographer. His photographic work has been exhibited in Australia, New Zealand and the United States.
