Congratulations To Mandy Sayer For The Shortlisting Of 'Those Dashing McDonagh Sisters' In The Age Book Of The Year 2023

Cameron’s congratulates author Mandy Sayer for the shortlisting of her magnificent biography, “Those Dashing McDonagh Sisters” (New South) in the non-fiction category of The Age Book of the Year 2023.

The trailblazing McDonagh sisters were the first women in Australia to form their own film production company. Between 1926 and 1933, while they were in their mid-twenties, these sassy sisters produced four feature films and a number of documentaries.

Winners will be announced on 4 May as part of the Melbourne Writers Festival opening night.

Last year’s awards were won by Miles Allinson for In Moonland and Bernadette Brennan for Leaping into the Waterfall: The enigmatic Gillian Mears.
