Christie Whelan Browne Joins Cameron’s

Christie Whelan Browne has been delivering award-winning performances and delighting audiences since her iconic debut in Grease – The Arena Spectacular. Her indelible performances include roles in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, The Importance of Being Earnest, and The Drowsy Chaperone. As a mainstay of Melbourne Theatre Company, Christie has performed in several productions including Twelfth Night, An Ideal Husband and Born Yesterday. In musical theatre, Christie has shown her triple-threat bona fides in many canonical works for all the major producers in Australia including defining roles in Xanadu, Muriel’s Wedding The Musical and her award-winning turn in Company.

Christie was most recently seen on screen in a guest role in Colin from Accounts and her television credits across all major networks include Spreadsheet, Mustangs FC, Neighbours, The Wrong Girl, Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries and Offspring. Christie also featured in popular mini-series Peter Allen – Not the Boy Next Door as Olivia Newton-John.

Christie is the star of four one-woman cabarets all of which debuted at The Adelaide Cabaret Festival and toured to great acclaim. She has been a popular return guest and performer on Shaun Micallef’s Mad as Hell, Carols by Candlelight and Spicks & Specks; in 2023 she was a Grand Finalist on Dancing with The Stars.

In 2025 Christie will be part of the Australian Premiere cast of the Tony Award Winning Musical Kimberly Akimbo for STCSA/MTC and can next be seen in the Melbourne season of her cabaret Life in Plastic.
