'Mix Tape' Selected to Premiere at the 2025 SXSW Festival in Austin

Congratulations to Lucy Gaffy, Marden Dean and Christine Cheung for the recent announcement that Mix Tape will be heading to the 2025 SXSW Film and Television Festival in Austin, Texas. The event has a legacy of championing groundbreaking work through its eclectic mix of genre-busting projects.

Mix Tape is a four-part miniseries based on the novel by Jane Sanderson which begins in Sheffield, England in 1989 with Daniel and Alison’s all-encompassing teenage romance, forever etched in their memories through the music of their generation. The series is produced by Aquarius Films and Subotica.

Lucy Gaffy directed the entirety of the series, working closely with actors Teresa Palmer, Jim Sturgess, Florence Hunt and newcomer Rory Walton-Smith. Cinematographer Marden Dean also worked across all four episodes, shooting in both Ireland and Sydney. Bringing all their fabulous work together, Christine Cheung was one of two editors on the show.

Mix Tape will premiere locally on Binge and Foxtel in mid-2025.
